Yvonne Lolita Bloom

Yvonne Lolita Bloom affectionately known as "Vonnie" was October 20th, 1948 in San Diego California to Andrew LeRoy Flynt and Velma Ruth Battis. She was the first born of two children. She moved to Los Angeles at the age of 19 where she later had her only child, Simyona LaNae Bloom.
Upon arriving to a new location with no support, she attended Los Angeles City College where she received her Associates Degree while aspiring to be an X-Ray Technician. Yvonne also obtained her Bachelor's Degree at Charles R Drew University of Medicine and Science. Yvonne was employed by the Los Angeles Unified School District as a school bus driver for many years until she retired in 1998.
Sister Yvonne was converted to Christianity in 2001 and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was baptized at Double Rock Baptist Church in Compton California by our very own Pastor, E. Joshua Sims.
Yvonne served faithfully until her health began to fail.
Sister Yvonne was joined in Holy Matrimony to Jerome David Bloom for 15 years. Jerome preceded her in death.
She loved the Lord, her family, her church family and the simple pleasures of life. Her kindness and compassion for others was truly a gift from God.
During her lifetime, Yvonne was always active and energetic. During her illness, she showed great courage and strength, never losing faith while coping with her challenging health status.
On June 12th 2015, she stepped across the threshold from earthly fellowship and labors of love to the sweet rest and glorious communion with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.
She leaves to cherish find and special memories, her loving daughter, Simi Bloom, Daughter in law, Kim Walker, Brother, Dearcy Long, Nieces, Dena Long and LaRina Denby, grandchildren and Godchildren and many other relatives, her Renewed Life Church family and friends.
