Yoshimitsu "Joe" Yonamine

Yoshimitsu Yonamine, 86 was born on Feb. 28, 1928 to Kogoro and Kana Yonamine in Hawaii. He passed away on Jan. 23, 2015 in Stockton, CA.
He is survived by his beloved wife Margarete Yonamine, daughter, Ingrid Koyanagi (Sus), daughter in-law, Kathy Yonamine, grandchildren Fawn Oda (Michael), Dominic Yonamine (Becky), Chad Koyanagi, Kittie Romero (Dennis), and Sonny Yonamine, great-grandchildren, Tyler Oda, Nicolas Yonamine, Kalena Yonamine and Nathaniel Romero, 3 brothers, Harold, Shig (Myrtle), Walt (Irene), 2 sisters, Ruth Kobashigawa and Bertha Yoshida (Mako) and numerous nieces and nephews.
He served in the Army from 1946-1949. Then worked for the city of Gardena, where he retired from. He enjoyed fishing, camping, Las Vegas and family.
He has gone to be with his son, Peter Yonamine and grandson, Tyrone Oda and will be missed dearly by everyone who loved him or even knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00p.m.
Casual Aloha attire for the memorial service.
