Ylda Ochoa-Salazar passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the age of 69. Ylda leaves behind her loving husband, Carl. She is also survived by her sisters Donna Ralph, Micki Kaono, Maclovia Wallace and Tina Ochoa. She was preceded in death by her parents Miguel and Camerina (Gastelum) Ochoa; brothers Jack, Miguel and Ralph Ochoa; and sisters Lenore Arce, Irene Miller and Shirley Zagala.
Ylda worked in the travel industry for over 45 years and enjoyed traveling. Her favorite destinations were Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii and U.S. National Parks. She loved spending time with family and friends and introducing them to new games and ensuring everyone participated.
Ylda and Carl made many beautiful memories throughout their life together. For the past few years, they have been the nucleus of the Ochoa family. Ylda was selfless, compassionate, loving and generous. Her personality was vibrant and smile contagious.
Ylda was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2014 and had been on maintenance therapy since 2017. Throughout her battle, she never complained and chose to live life to the fullest.

Visitation will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes on Friday, March 8 from 4:30-8:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lomita on Saturday, March 9 at 10 am. Reception will follow at the Los Angeles Harbor Mason Lodge in San Pedro.
