Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Wilma Dierker.
Wilma Maria Ella Dierker was given life by her creator and was born on December 30, 1919, the child of William Dittmann and Frieda Schroeder Dittmann. On January 16, 1920, she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On May 20, 1934, she publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed. She received the precious gift of the Lord's life-giving body and blood. On June 17, 1945, she received the gift of a beloved companion in her spouse, Rev. E.W. Dierker. She was blessed with the gift of children, Rodger, Rebecca, Priscilla, and Elizabeth. God blessed Wilma's life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. Finally, on August 23, 2016, God blessed Wilma with a holy death and took her home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead.
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister, Wilma.
Wilma is survived by Rodger (Shelley), Rebecca, Priscilla (Keith) as well as grand-children Kristin (Andrew), Bethany (Ian), Mark (Jessica) and Rachel as well as great grand-children Holland, Liv, and Maximus. Wilma was preceded in death by husband Eldred Dierker (5-27-2002), daughter Elizabeth Dierker (9-6-1998) and son-in-law Louis Bosco (8-2-2014).
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Wilma's memory on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11 a.m., at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (address below). Please join the family for a light luncheon reception to follow.
Memorials may be made in her honor to The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 902 Maple St., Inglewood, CA 90301.
