William R. Krieger

William Robert "Bill" Krieger, the son of Arno and Hulda Krieger, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2013 at the age of 97 in Torrance, CA. He was born on October 9, 1916 in Wisconsin and had been a 50 year resident of Palos Verdes, CA. In his teens, Bill developed a passion for flight, which became a lifelong adventure in aviation. In WWII as a Navy pilot, he flew routes across the South Pacific bringing home colorful experiences that were to shape his life. In the following years, he had a long and distinguished career in the FAA, culminating as Chief of Flight Standards for the Western Region from which he eventually retired. He was a true aviation pioneer.

Bill is survived by his beloved sons John and Richard, and grandchildren Jonathan and Jennifer to whom he was lovingly known as "Pepa". He was a man of great honor and integrity, a model for all of us. He is now reunited with his much loved son Chuck and wife Jan, the love of his life for 64 years, his "One and Only". Bill lived a remarkably full and long life, we will deeply miss him…..

Services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Francis Episcopal Church 2200 Via Rosa, Palos Verdes Estates, CA. 90274 with burial site service following at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
