William Lengen Hanssler, a devoted husband, father, brother, and citizen, passed away on April 6th 2012. He was 82. William was born on April 15th, 1929 in Venice, California and spent his childhood years growing up in Compton, California. He served his country proudly in the Korean War between 1950 and 1952. After retiring from more than 37 years of work at Unocal Corporation, William spent his time cultivating his beautiful garden, watching sports, discussing current events and politics, listening to old time radio shows, and traveling. He is survived by his wife of almost 39 years, Le Ella Hanssler, his children Scott and Hayley Hanssler, Edward and Jeanette Smith, and Stacy Smith, and five grandchildren. Services will be held at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes on Thursday April 12th at 11:00 am. Donations may be made in the memory of William Hanssler to the Lazarex Cancer Foundation at
