William Henry Baldwin was born in Bryan Texas, on December 14, 1941 to Luther B. Baldwin Sr. and Gladys Baldwin. He was one of four children, Luther Jr. (deceased), Russel and Zonia. Bill accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour at an early age and presently attended Calvary Chapel of South Bay.
Bill secured his early education in Bryan, Texas and graduated from Kemp High School. After moving to California in 1957, he furthered his education by graduating from Los Angeles Trade Technical College. He received his AA Degree in engineering and drafting. His talent in this field secured him a position at North American Rockwell and Boeing aircraft for 41 years, retiring in 2012. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1980 from California State Dominguez Hills. He had a passion for drawing, sketching and being very detailed and exact in many things. He always had a pen in his jacket or shirt pocket. Bill could always be counted on for support and being with his family or friends if there was a need.
Bill met the love of his life, Kirbie Joanne Stapleton and they were married on December 7, 1974. He and his devoted wife shared 41 years together.
Bill loved sports. He was a great bowler. He organized and recruited teams for State Tournaments. He actually bowled a perfect game, scoring 300 points, winning a ring and a bowling patch. He loved to watch sports on TV and attend games when he was able. Bill was active in the Palo Del Amo Woods, Homeowners Association, where he held the position of Recreation Chairman in 1979.
Bill was a great guy, one to remember and definitely one who will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Luther B. Baldwin II. Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife, Kirbie Joanne, a brother Russel; a sister Zonia; a niece Deborah Clemons; 2 nephews, Luther III, and Damon; 2 step sons Kevin Sr. and Jeffrey Sr. (Angelina); five grandchildren, Cherron (Takebb), Kevin Jr. (Erica), Kristen, Jeffrey Jr., and Jerin Stapleton. Six great grandchildren, Abel, Xenyla, Syanna, Paris, Jeremiah and Adrian and a host of relatives and friends.
