Willard Arthur Croskrey, Sr.

April 17, 1930 — June 26, 2013

Willard Croskrey passed away on June 26th after a lengthy battle against Alzheimer's disease. He was 83 years old. Born to Art and Beulah Croskrey in Kalispell, MT, sadly, his mother passed away when Willard was just two weeks old. His father married LaVaughn Gibson who became the mother of Willard's heart. As the family expanded, he was soon joined by the arrival of his three wonderful siblings, Wayne, Kip and baby sister, Lora.

In 1949, a week after they both graduated from Flathead High School, Willard married his high school sweetheart, Joyce DeEtta Stang. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Southern California. Settling in Torrance, they raised four children while he put in a loyal 54 years working with Paul Briles at PB Fasteners in Gardena.

A man of his word, a man of great work ethic, Willard was generous and helpful to all. A natural born craftsman, he would be found tinkering in his workshop creating, building and fixing things for family and friends. Willard's family was everything to him. He and Joyce hosted many big gatherings full of extended family members and friends...his memory will be forever cherished by all of them.

Willard is survived by his daughter Donna Croskrey of Torrance, son Willie Croskrey (Darshana) of Scotts Valley and daughter Jackie (Michael) Barela of Carlsbad; five grandchildren - Jeri Ann, Michael, Gregory, Shauna & Sarah, two great-grandchildren - Leighanne & John, two great-great-granddaughters - Sophia & Collette; siblings Kip Croskrey of Portland OR and Lora Steele of Kalispell MT; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 44 years Joyce Croskrey, his oldest daughter Janis (Andrew) Langwiser and a brother, Wayne Croskrey of Great Falls, MT.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 1st at Noon at Green Hills Mortuary 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes CA 90275 (Office- 310.831.0311) followed by a reception at the family home.
