Words of Will through the eyes of his loved ones...
I was born in Hermosa Beach, CA on October 12, 1942 but spent my childhood in Baltimore, MD. My younger brother, Anthony, and I were raised by our dedicated mother, Patricia. We moved to Redondo Beach, CA when I started high school and graduated from Redondo Beach Union High School. Through my 2 tours of duty in Vietnam, I was introduced to my soulmate, Cynthia Paris. She became an RN and I worked for Armco Steel, Bowl-O-Drome, even sold signs part-time, for Gulf Development, and also worked for Deans Food Distributor. Eventually my Psychology degree from Cal State Long Beach allowed me to become a math teacher at Charles Drew Middle School (Compton, CA) for 22 years. We lived in Harbor City, and I am proud to have raised 2 beautiful daughters, Joy and Crystal. Both different, yet both the same, I loved them with all my heart. Joy, a Director of Payroll for Roth Staffing, shares a life with Grant, her husband, and they raised 2 precious pups, Stibnite and Copper. They were also very fortunate to bless me with Missy, a pup that literally jumped into our lives. All 3 pups have since gone to puppy heaven. Crystal, a Systems Engineer for Northrop Grumman, shares a life with Eric, her husband and they blessed me with a new life as “Grandpa”. They gave me Valerie (10) and Mia (7)…my inspirations for living. I am glad I was able to enjoy them. Last but not least, Cynthia, was my rock. She did everything for me and our family. Food was always there, our house was immaculate, and she always made me look dapper with fresh clean clothes that were always ironed.
As a young man, I enjoyed swimming at the beach and just floating around. Bowling was an important part of my family life from the beginning. I used to bowl with Cindy’s family in the 70’s and continued the tradition with my daughter in the early 2000’s. My life was fun-filled with Abraham Hicks readings & workshops, playing lotto daily, taking frequent trips with Cindy to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Harrah’s Rincon, Las Vegas, Knott’s Berry Farm, San Diego, the Grand Canyon, Hawaii. So many good memories…and stuffed animals galore!
I was blessed with 51 years as a loving Husband, 49 as a dedicated Dad, and 10 as, how would Valerie and Mia put it, the best and most awesome Grandpa who gives us everything. What more could I ask for in life?!
I am eternally grateful to everyone that became a part of my life. Don’t miss me, just remember I’m everywhere looking upon you smiling. :-)
