Welma Lund

Welma Anna (Emken) Lund passed away of natural causes at a care facility in Rancho Palos Verdes on June 23, 2020. Born in Treynor, Iowa on February 8, 1929 to John and Frieda Emken, she was the eldest sibling to 3 brothers and 1 sister. The Emkens lived and worked on a farm in Hancock, IA. She married Henry Lund on June 15, 1949. In 1957, Welma & Henry moved to California to live and raise their 2 sons, Glen and Greg. Since 2002, Welma was a resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
Her beloved Henry preceded Welma in death on March 2, 2001. Welma’s surviving family includes: eldest son Glen, youngest son Greg, Candy (Greg’s wife), her 2 granddaughters, Robin and Lauren, Chris Harvey (Robin’s husband) and Todd Grimaud (Lauren’s husband). Welma was blessed with three beautiful great-grandchildren: Lucy Rose Grimaud, Jackson Thomas Harvey and Harper Anna Grimaud. Welma loved her family, especially her granddaughters and kept busy by baking and working on quilting/sewing projects. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Welma and most especially her Christmas cookies will be missed.
