Wayne "Bud" Branning

Wayne Branning, or “Bud” as he was known, was born on Jan. 5, 1933 in Reno, Nevada, to George & Sally Branning. He passed away on Sept. 9, 2018 at his home in Yucca Valley, California. A life long resident of California, he grew up in Gardena on a goat ranch. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Harmon in June 1951. They were married for 58 years until Mary’s passing in Oct. 2009.
Bud served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Iowa during the Korean War as a quarter master.
After his discharge, he joined the Longshoreman’s union. He & Mary bought a home in Wilmington, where they raised their three children. In 1955 they bought a homestead cabin in Yucca Valley & were weekenders until his retirement in 1983, when they moved to Yucca Valley permanently.
Bud is survived by his daughters Jo Ann & Linda, his son Mike, six grandchildren & nine great grandchildren.
