Walter Lee Sanders

September 25, 1934 — August 28, 2018

Walter Lee Sanders was born on September 25, 1934 to Walter Monroe and Floy Lee Sanders, and raised in Sheridan, Arkansas. Here is also where Walter met and courted Mary Frances Williams until they were wed on November 13, 1953. Walt and Mary moved to California in 1955 where he went to engineering school and where they raised 3 children, Teresa Ann, Roger Dale, and Diana Lynn.

In 1965 they begin attending Crenshaw Baptist Church where they both served God with open and loving hearts, and where they begin the long, loving journey of bringing both family members and friends to know, love, and serve Christ. No matter if it was sitting in the pew with his wife and oldest daughter Teresa, serving alongside his son Roger as church treasurer, or singing in the choir with his youngest daughter Diana, he was always proud to be called a Child and Servant of God. And God did not just call him to serve in church, he also called him to serve as a Director at Rockwell International for 35 years, where he never forgot who was directing him from above. Walter was a man who always put God first and therefore his family was of utmost importance to him.

Walter Lee Sanders passed away from this life on August 28, 2018, at the age of 83, while surrounded by his loving wife and family. Walter is survived by his wife of 65 years, two daughters, one son, and their spouses, 8 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren, who will all miss him dearly.
