Virginia Eastham Levy passed away peacefully today at her residence in Carlsbad California at the age of 91. Virginia leaves behind a loving family, including her sons Galen and wife Karolyn, Gary and wife Barbara, and Gil and his adopted family Abby and Henry. Virginia is also survived by her step-children Cheryl and Jeff, grandchildren Gina, Garner, Miles, Wendi, Sarada and Tao, and great grandchildren Sarah, Hank, Zoe, Gavin and Gradon.
Virginia was born January 9, 1921 to John and Eleanor Whitsell of Chicago, Illinois. She was the second of five children and is survived by her youngest brother William Whitsell. In 1942 she met and married Gerald Eastham while Jerry was a medical student at the University of Nebraska. After the War years, they moved to Torrance California where Jerry opened his medical practice. For the next twenty-five years they lived in Palos Verdes Estates where they raised their four sons. Virginia loved being a mother and supported her sons activities, such as Little League and Cub Scouts. Throughout these years, she often served as a room-mother at the local elementary school. She also enjoyed service work with the Torrance Hospital Auxillary and "Las Mariquitas", the San Pedro Assistance League. She loved to paint and play bridge and had many friends in the Palos Verdes area.
In 1987 Virginia married Walter Levy and moved to San Luis Obispo. Virginia and Walt enjoyed an active social life centered around their community golf course. During this period of time they had wonderful trips exploring many areas of the world. In 2005 Virginia and Walt moved to La Costa Glen in Carlsbad California to re-locate closer to their son Gil.
