Violet Elaine was born on July 28th, 1931 in Matheson, Colorado to John & Annie Nott. In 1941, she joined her parents and two younger sisters traveling west to Redondo Beach, California, finally settling in Hawthorne, which would become her forever home. In California, away from the snow & plains of rural Colorado, Violet enjoyed her studies, and caught the eye of Max Ryan with her ocean swimming at the Redondo Beach Pier. They married when she was just 17, and had two children together - Mike and Linda. Violet has seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and countless other friends who became family in her life. As the matriarch, she was always so proud of her large family, and loved hosting her 4th of July party annually. For the past 14 years, Violet thrived under the devotion of her caregiver, Oly. After a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis, she passed at home in Hawthorne, in the company of family on October 29th, 2019. She will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
