Victor (Vicko) Sulic, December 5, 1928 – July 17, 2018
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Vicko on July 17, 2018 at home in the loving arms of his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janja (Vekic), father, Jozo Sulic; sisters, Ljubica and Iva; brothers, Petar and Dano. He is survived by his loving wife, Olga, devoted daughter, Tina-Marie, son-in-law, Dennis, and his granddaughter, Malena, the apple of his eye as well as family and friends in the United States, Canada, Croatia, and Hercegovina.
Born and raised in Čapljina, Hercegovina he escaped the communist regime of Yugoslavia in 1948 at the age of 20 eventually immigrating to Toronto, Canada and later settling in Vancouver, B.C. where he met and married his beloved wife Olga. In 1960, they immigrated to the United States where they raised their family and created a new life together. However, his homeland was his pride and he visited Croatia regularly to maintain his connection to his heritage.
An auto mechanic specializing in automatic transmissions by trade, he found employment in his field until he eventually owned and operated his own auto repair businesses where he worked hard and passionately until his retirement in 1980. Vicko was an incredible person who was always positive, kind, and loving. He enjoyed gatherings with family and friends, telling stories and jokes, skiing, swimming, and always loved a delicious meal.
He will be missed, but never forgotten because he will live in our hearts forever. Rest in peace Didi, we love you.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 28th in the Historic Church at Green Hills Memorial Park located at 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
