The beautiful soul we remember today was born Trista Leigh Martin on May 18, 1972 in California's South Bay to a loving a family, Bea and Jim Martin and older sister, Tamara. Trista spent her youth growing up in West Los Angeles with her mom. Trista was a very passionate and adventurous kid, which transferred to adulthood.
She graduated from University High School and studied interior design. Trista loved music, art
and dance in addition to having an amazing fashion sense. She also loved the finer things in life
but was not afraid to get her hands in the dirt. Soon after high school she met the love of her life, Gene Sigal and got married in 2000. They had two beautiful children, Lola Jaz and Sebastian Zen, who were her light and life. The children were her driving force, she was active in their classrooms and after school activities. Trista enjoyed the beach and spending time with her sister Tami; museums, cultural events and art with her mom and trips to Canyon Lake with her dad. She also made time for baseball games with brother-in-law Dave and nephews Tony and Mateo. She spent adventures at the race track supporting Gene's racing career with her sister-in-law Natasha, brother-in-law Mike and Gene's parent David and Mila.
She had a warm and loving heart that always welcomed and comforted family, friends and
strangers. Trista's star shined so brightly people were drawn to her dynamic presence. For a
decade she worked for the creator of the syndicated comic strip "Cathy." She and Gene also co-
owned a professional racing team, Sigalsport for several years. Most recently Trista had goals of
writing and illustrating children's books.
