Tony Meraz

It's with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Tony was born on October 21, 1936 in San Pedro. Tony was a lifelong resident of San Pedro as are most of his very large extended family. Tony met his soulmate Rachel in junior high school and they have been inseparable ever since. Rachel was his everything! The acts of kindness were always aimed at putting a smile on her face. Tony and Rachel were blessed with over 65 years of marriage and have two children, Tony Jr and Julie. Tony acknowledging his children's personal achievements was at the top of his list. He was their number one fan and an extremely proud father! As a young man Tony was a carpenter, then moved on to a career as a proud ILWU longshoreman and a respected foreman all spanning over 35 years. Tony was there for anyone that needed support! His kind nature, huge smile, generosity of time and endless love for family will be so forever missed. Viewing April 25th 5:30-8:30 Rosary at 6:30 Green Hills Memorial Park. Mass will be celebrated April 27th 2021 at Mary Star of the Sea Church followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park
