Thomas Akos Plesko, Born in Budapest, Hungary March 19, 1969 – Died March 17, 2016. Resident of his beloved San Pedro, died in El Segundo. A dreamer and explorer, engineer by trade and inventor by spirit, Tom had a uniquely bright passion for learning and experimenting with everything and anything, from music and art to hardware and programming. He was a prolific creator, both at work designing cutting-edge circuit boards and chips, and in his free time, where he founded a hardware company and was constantly also working on software, including his more than a dozen Android apps under the developer name Akos. In addition to a uniquely creative mind, Tom had an easy smile, a "live and let live" mantra, and a contagious exuberance for the wondrous details of life that many of us take for granted. An avid hiker, nature was especially inspiring with its elegant beauty and examples of simple principles leading to vast and awesome formations (fractals). He constantly inspired others to pursue their interests and enthusiastically supported all who had passions of their own. His biggest disappointment was in human limitations, including the limited time we have to explore and create, which for him was cut even shorter. Tom got a taste of fatherhood, an experience he cherished, and will be missed, leaving behind his 1 year old daughter Hannah, wife, Jing and mother, Martha. Services will be Saturday, April 2nd, 1-2pm, at Green Hills Memorial Chapel.
