Thomas A. Norris was born to William and Mary Rose (Walsh) Norris on February 4, 1925 in Boston. He passed away peacefully in San Pedro, California on June 14, 2024 at age of 99. The family moved to Brooklyn, New York when Tom was 3 years old. At the age of 17 Tom went to Electricity (Trade School) for one year. After completing trade school in 1943, he served in the U.S. Navy for three years to fight for his country during World War II. After he finished his time in the Navy he moved to San Pedro, California. He worked for the Department of Water & Power and retired after 32 years. On August 1, 1970, he married Carrie Crostic and they had 32 years together until her death, in 2002. He is predeceased by his wife, Carrie, his parents, William and Mary Rose Norris, brother Bill and two sisters, Mary Quinton and Margaret Norris and stepson Terry Crostic. He is survived by his stepdaughter Sylvia Bronaugh and step son- in-law Don, and stepdaughter-in-law Deanna Crostic, He is survived by many grand-children, great grand-children and great-great grand-children. Also, two nephews Steven Quinton in New York and Richard Quinton in Florida and their families. Tom had a life-long love of music and loved to dance and sing whenever he heard music. Tom was known for his great joke-telling among his friends and family and his love of chocolate chip cookies. He was a member of the Elks for 57 years, and enjoyed being a Ruff Neck with the Elks. Tom and Carrie loved to bowl and especially for the Elks Lodge Bowling League. They traveled to bowl in tournaments for the Elks and visited many other Elk lodges through the years Services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, Friday, August 2, 2024, at 11:30 am. At the conclusion of the service, a final blessing and Military Honors will be at graveside.
