Thomas A. Henry

Tom was born in Winnabow, Brunswick County, NC and passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 93 in Torrance, CA. He was the son of David and Guilda Henry and the third born of 6 brothers and sisters. A 63-year resident of Redondo Beach, CA and most recently of Carson, CA he was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, of 64 years. He is survived by his three children Dixie (Kim) Foster, Manhattan Beach, CA; Tom (Sandy) Henry, Fountain Valley, CA; Jim (Jana) Henry, Pegram, TN; his two grandchildren Alexis and Nicholas Henry, Fountain Valley, CA; his sister Guilda Baker, Rocky Mount, NC; 9 nieces and nephews and dear friend Joy Van Patten, Carson, CA. Tom proudly served two terms with the US Army pre and post WWII in Hawaii, England and Germany. Tom enjoyed an over 37 year career at North American Rockwell in El Segundo, CA. and a variety of interests over his long life included being a car & airplane buff, raising orchids, country music, friends, dancing, Hawaiian vacations, chocolate, and was mechanically talented. He could build/repair anything from his cars to adding room additions to his home. Tom was a beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He will be sorely missed and will forever hold a place in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him back. Services will be held at 1:00pm at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013; visitation will be from 9:00am-12:00pm.
