Thomas R. Eastburn

Thomas (Tom) Eastburn, a long time resident of Lomita, CA and currently a resident of Huntington Beach, CA, passed away on June 8, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born on the family farm in Arnold, Nebraska on February 15, 1930 to Charles and Alta Eastburn. He married his high school sweetheart Arlene Johnson in 1953 and came to California on their honeymoon. After two weeks in California Tom found a job at Douglas Aircraft (which then became McDonnell Douglas and now Boeing) as a Plastic Fabricator. He had a successful career, climbed the corporate ladder and retired in February 1985 after 31 years as the General Superintendent of the Torrance Plant. Tom did various jobs until 1988 when he and Arlene sold their home and moved to Temecula. Once there he never really retired as he went to work for Napa Auto Parts where he worked for another 17 years. Tom is survived by his Wife Arlene, Daughters; Susan Stowell of Huntington Beach, Lori (Michael) Zankich of Lomita, Kathy Edwards of Torrance, Son Chris (Denise) Eastburn of Harbor City. 7 Grandchildren; Sean (Erin) Stowell, Corey (Jason) Peshke, Jimmy (Candace) Edwards, Keleigh Edwards, Stefanie (Alex) Pedigo, Taylor Eastburn, Ryan Eastburn. 10 Great Grandchildren; Jordynn, Scott, Tyler, Hugh, Jimmy III, Bennett, Declan, Camden, Aubrie and Alexanadra. Tom is also survived by his Brother-in-Law and Best Friend Gene Klein and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his Granddaughter Amanda Zankich and Son-in-Law Tim Stowell.

Visitation will be held 6pm – 8pm on Friday, June 15, 2018 in the Villetta Suite of Green Hills Mortuary. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Green Hills Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Thomas’ memory.
