Tetsuo "Tets" Sakuda

Tetsuo (Tets) Sakuda the son of Kama and Ushi, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2015 with his family and friends by his side. Tets the 3rd of 7 children was born on April 10, 1928 in Ookala, Hawaii and was a long time resident of Gardena, California. He served in the United States Air Force as S/Sgt (Jan 1948 – Dec 1953). After serving his country he attended Allied Institute of Technology in Chicago Illinois to obtain a degree in Mechanical Drafting and Tool Design. This allowed him the knowledge to work at a few small Engineering Companies to provide for his family, eventually landing a position at Hughes Aircraft Co. (Space & Communications) where he worked for 27 years as a Sr. Elec-Mech Draftsman. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 39 years Marilyn, 1st wife Joyce of 21 years, brothers Koe, Sootatsu, Tadao, Jinkichi and step-son Jason Matsumoto. Tetsuo is survived by daughter Carol (Tom) Miller, step-son Lloyd Matsumoto, step-daughter Joy (Scott Odle) Kobashigawa, grandchildren, Nicole (Don) and Shannon Kobashigawa, siblings, Yoshino and Shirley, both of Hawaii, and his beloved Chicago Cubs. Services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel on Friday July 31, 2015 at 11:00 am. Aloha attire.
