Sylvia R. Hobbs

Sylvia R. Hobbs, 88, of Mount Pleasant, died Thursday, April 25, 2013. There will be no service. Interment will be at Green Hill Memorial Park in Calif. Arrangements are under the direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hobbs was born October 12, 1924 in Cookville to James Franklin Richardson and Delia Owans Richardson. She was an inspector for Martin-Marietta – Government Contractor.

She is survived by her adopted son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Brenda Richardson of Marietta; three grandchildren, Pam Harden, Tammy Smith, and Dwayne Richardson; four great-grandchildren, Sotty Meade, Vickie Meade, Kelsey Lund, and Trinity Harden; two great-great-grandchildren, Ryder Meade and Trey Meade; two sisters, Eula Shaddix and Cathy Richardson; and five brothers, Deaner, Jackie, Bobby, Marion, and Gerald Richardson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Hobbs; her parents; three brothers, James, Euclan, and Melburn Richardson; and four sisters, Esther Russell, Eunice Rice, Dorothy Richardson, and Fransis Ryan.
