Susan Eisen, age 72, of Torrance, California passed away in her home surrounded by family and loved ones on November 13th after a courageous battle with cancer. Susan was born in Glendale, CA as the younger of two children on August 2, 1943 to the late Wayne and Virginia (Woodard) Yarick.
She received her nursing degree from Mount St. Mary's College and spent her entire career devoted to helping others. As an RN at Torrance Memorial and Harbor-UCLA Medical Centers, she specialized in diabetes education.
Susan is survived by her husband, Nick Buche, of Torrance, California, her sister Ann Fleener, of Weimar, California, her three children Jefferson (Christy) Harralson of Atlanta, Georgia, Scott (Claire) Veroda of Playa Vista, California, and Amber (Jed) Sanford of Palos Verdes Estates, California and her eight grandchildren – Ansley, Grayson, Amelia, Virginia, Owen, Madeline, Liam and June.
She will always be remembered for her warm heart, big smile, playful spirit, passion for politics and support for our troops. An exceptionally devoted grandmother affectionately known as Shoo Shoo, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Deepest gratitude goes to the Torrance Memorial Hospice, her caregivers, her sister Ann Fleener and niece Robin Ljubi for their compassionate care and support.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 21st at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Green Hills Memorial Park with a reception to follow.
