Stuart Bisk passed away at his home in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA on September 24, 2016. He was born in Chicago, Ilinois on February 28, 1933, the son of Rosalind and Irving Bisk and older brother to Gayle Bisk (Ginsburg).
As a teen, he moved from Chicago to Los Angeles, California where he graduated from Fairfax High School. He attended UCLA where he competed on the golf team before transferring to Northwestern University to attend dental school. After practicing dentistry in San Pedro, he returned to the University of Southern California completing his orthodontic training before opening his orthodontic practice in San Pedro. Stuart's membership in the Edward H Angle Society and his service as president are evidence of his commitment to his profession.
Stuart married Suzanne Bisk and settled in Palos Verdes, CA where they raised three children, Brian, Stacy and Laurel. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time fishing with his children on his boat off the California coast. Later in life, Stuart traveled with children and grandchildren to fish in California, Mexico and Alaska. Through his passion for golf and his competitive spirit Stuart built many lasting friendships. Stuart served his community as a member of the San Pedro Kiwanis Club for 20 years, in the Boy Scout organization and as a member of his ward in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Stuart is survived by his wife Suzanne Bisk, his children Brian (Twila) Bisk, Stacy (Troy) Jacobs, and Laurel (Denten) Eldredge, his nine grandchildren: Carter, Jacob and Brandon Bisk; Josh, Marlee, Taylor and Nick Jacobs, and Bryce and Bradley Eldredge, and his sister Gayle (Roger) Ginsburg.
Funeral services for Stuart will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in San Pedro on Friday, September 30 beginning at 10:00 am with a viewing followed by services at 11:00 am.
