Stephanie O'Hara Jones

Stephanie O'Hara Jones, 30, of Torrance, CA was ushered in to the presence of our Lord and Savior on Sunday September 9, 2013 after losing a year-long battle with a rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Stephanie was born August 24, 1983 in Torrance, CA and grew up in Rancho Palos Verdes. She graduated from South Bay Faith Academy of Redondo Beach in 2001 and went on to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) of Los Angeles, studying costume design and creation.
Stephanie was married to Tyler Emrys Jones of Torrance, CA where they raised their family. Her passions were her God, her husband and her children. She received much enjoyment and fulfillment designing beautiful clothing and costumes for others. Her elaborate Halloween costumes made for friends and family will always be remembered. Her popular costumes of Star Wars characters will not be forgotten.
In addition, Stephanie was a home-school mother who loved teaching her children about God, life, the sciences, and the arts. Stephanie enjoyed going to the movies, annual trips to Sea World, playing board and video games with friends, and taking the children to Disneyland. Spending time at the beach was also one of her passions, celebrating many birthdays and her wedding in the sand on the shore.
Although her life was short, it was full. She did everything with a genuine love and excitement. She loved the outdoors, and went camping, to the beach and picnicking often. She enjoyed the intimacy of her close relationships and savored every exchange.
Stephanie was an extremely generous person who enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones. She was typically friendly and casual in her appearance and hated being the center of attention. Although she loved her friends and family, she was also very independent, and often her own worst critic.
Though it brings her family much peace to know that Stephanie is in the presence of our Lord, she will be sorely missed. She spent her energy on helping others, inspiring them with both her words and actions to be better friends and lovers, and to be more grateful for and enjoy the life God has give them. She was loved by countless friends and family, who were blessed by her for words of comfort, support and inspiration. Her presence would regularly lift everyone's spirits. She would notice the small things, the ironic and quirky details of every situation, finding humor which everyone else couldn't see, and caused our thoughts to be changed and uplifted. We are all so grateful to God for giving her to be a part of our lives.
Stephanie is survived by her husband Tyler; daughters Isabella 7 and Harley 3; and son Locke, who is 2. She is also survived by parents Paul and Debbie O'Hara of Rancho Palos Verdes; brothers Wes, Chris, Evan, Michael, and Max; and sisters Theresa and Shannon.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 14 at:
