Born in Oslo, Norway in 1924. She was the oldest of four children (two sisters and one brother). Solveig came to the United States in 1951 where she learned English and became a clothing designer in Los Angeles. She later worked for the Manhattan Beach Unified School District as a Food Service Worker.
She was a member of the Begonia Society and had a great love for flowers and plants.
Solveig was a lifetime member of the international Sons Of Norway and a member of Peer Gynt Lodge #22 in Culver City.
Solveig was preceded in death by her son John (Kelly) Heimdahl.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 68 years, Helge Heimdahl. Solveig is also survived by her daughter Anne (Jose) Rivera along with her grandchildren: Justin Rivera, Christopher Heimdahl, Courtney Heimdahl and Kari Heimdahl.
