Shizue (Sue) Uyeno

September 26, 1926 — August 17, 2014

Shizue (Sue) was born in Gardena, CA and relocated at age 15 to the Japanese American internment camps of WWII at Jerome, Arkansas, where she met and later married Noritsugu (Nochio) Uyeno. After the war, the couple made their home in Los Angeles, where Shizue (Sue) worked as a legal secretary for the LA Unified School District until her retirement. Mother of Gerald Uyeno and Nancy Uyeno Kamei; grandmother of Thomas Kamei. She will be dearly missed by friends and family, including the children of her beloved sister Fumiyo Kiyomura. Services at Green Hills in Rancho Palos Verdes on August 30. Graveside service at 2 pm. Visitation 9 am - 1 pm.
