Jack Shiro Nakagawa, patriarch, international businessman, and avid golfer, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 of congestive heart failure. Born in Fresno, California on December 30, 1922, Jack is survived by his wife, Sachiko, son, Roy Yuichi, daughter, Jane Yukiko, and grandchildren, Erika Hiroko, Alexander Taira, Emily Mariko, and Samuel Masao.
Jack loved golf. His motto was, "Golf is the strength or power of life". After retirement, he achieved four Hole in Ones, two Club Championships, and most remarkable of all, Age Shot 789 times. Jack also loved Hotei-san, one of the Seven Lucky Gods in Japanese folklore. Hotei was known to bring happiness, wealth, and good luck. During his 63 year marriage, Jack amassed more than 20 Hotei statues. Of sound mind until the end, the family attributes his longevity to Sachiko's home cooking, golf, and his many Hotei-sans.
