It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Darlene Pilato, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away on August 5, 2024, at the age of 77, following a long battle with dementia. Born on November 10, 1946, Shirley brought love and light into the world with her beautiful smile and loving heart.
She attended San Pedro High School and [beauty school] and worked as a hairstylist for over 40 years.
It was in 1968 that Shirley’s heart found its counterpart in Jerry Pilato. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love.
Shirley was the devoted wife of Jerry C. Pilato and a cherished mother to her two children, Brandi Pilato and Jerry S. Pilato. She found immense joy in being a wife and mother and her family was the pride and joy of her life.
Shirley had a passion for shopping, always finding the perfect item to bring a smile to someone’s face. She loved to dance, and her infectious laugh would light up any room. Her warmth, kindness, and zest for life touched everyone she met.
Shirley’s life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, the lives she touched, the friendships she made and the love she shared. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will bloom eternally in the hearts of those she has left behind.
Predeceased by her parents William and Jeanette Smith and her sister Gwenette Williamson, Shirley’s memory is honored by her devoted husband Jerry C. Pilato; her children, Brandi Pilato and Jerry S. Pilato; daughter in law Brianna Pilato and her six grandchildren, Jayden, Gage, Jaxon, Jorden, Brody and Axel.
A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at Green Hill Mortuary Chapel, September 6, 2024 at 11:30, followed by a reception and celebration of her life at Raffaelo’s Ristorante in San Pedro.
