Sandra Emilia Llamas

On Monday, July 25, 2022, Sandra Emilia Llamas, loving mother, and sister, passed away at the age of 69. Sandra was born to Philip and Emilia Garcia on March 6, 1953 in Lynwood, California. She was labeled the “baby” of her family being the youngest amongst her older siblings, Elizabeth, Freddie, and Carol. She graduated from Hawthorne High School and would later marry and have three children, Errick, Stephanie and Samantha. She began working for her dad at his electrical contracting business and loved to take her kids to work. She was a great multitasker often typing with one hand and entertaining with the other. She became a single mother while her kids were in elementary school. To be closer to her children, she volunteered heavily in the classrooms. She would spend countless hours decorating bulletin boards, organizing classroom equipment, baking cupcakes for fundraisers and chaperoning field trips.

After her kids were out of elementary school, Sandra accepted a job at Whittier College and soon transferred over to California State University, Long Beach and retired after 15 years.

She enjoyed her retirement years at home with her kids. She loved watching Hallmark Christmas movies all year long, reading novels on her kindle and playing Roller Coaster Tycoon because of her love of theme parks. She loved the Holidays, especially Christmas time, so much that she kept holiday decorations displayed in her room all year round.

Sandra always put her kids first above anything else. She spent her life expressing her love for her kids and always mentioned how proud she was of them. Her passing leaves behind a void that cannot be filled in the hearts of her family and the lucky few she called friends. She is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth and Carol. Her three children Errick, Stephanie and Samantha who meant the world to her and who loved their mom more than anything.
