St. Peter received a new crewmember on May 17, 2012 in San Pedro. Salvatore Ciaramitaro, a respected commercial fisherman who owned several fishing boats, was born on July 17, 1939 in Terrasini, Sicily. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him has reinforced the fact that he was one of a kind.
He is preceded in death by his parents Pietro and Rosalia Ciaramitaro, Brothers Gasper, Nino and Mercurio, Sister Nina, Father-in-law Rocky Grieco and Brother-in-law Joseph Grieco. Sal had two loves in his life: fishing and his wife of 47 years, Angela. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Lucy Grieco; son Peter (Debbie) Ciaramitaro, daughter Luci Ann (Sal) Salvato, and son Rocco (Kelly) Ciaramitaro; Grandchildren Samantha (David Cisneros) Ciaramitaro, Tommy Ciaramitaro, Angelina and Salvatore Rocco Salvato, Anthony Perez, Raquel and Gianna Ciaramitaro, and; great-granddaughter Liliana Cisneros; sisters Constanza, Grace, Fina and Antonetta; Sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, from 3-8 p.m. at Green Hills Mortuary. Funeral will be Private.
