Born on April 26, 1928 to Epitacio & Julia Torres, Salvador passed away on 6/7/17 surrounded by his children.
Preceded in death by his wife Bertha, step-father Francisco, brother's Frank, Victor, Johnny and sisters Rosalinda, Ofelia, and Consuelo. He is survived by his children, Javier & Tony Torres, Nancy Arrington, Carol Garcia, Alice Finkelstein along with his grandchildren Steffany, Ashley, Christy and Richard Torres. He is also survived by his brother Tony F. Ortega, sister in law Angelina Delgado along with her family and daughter in law Rosalie Guerrero.
Salvador served in the Korean Conflict and worked over 40 years at Star Kist Fisheries as a warehouse supervisor.
To his comrades in the service he was known as Sal, Chava to his close friends Sapo to his longtime neighborhood friends from San Pedro but more importantly to anyone and everyone he recently came in contact with he was simply known as...."GRANDPA"!
His passion for playing the lotto, drinking his morning "HOT" coffee, and his endless morning walks while avoiding all the ladies that wanted to walk with him were dwarfed by his love of soccer and avid supporter of FC Barcelona & Club America!
There will be hooligans at the chapel to deny entry to any Chivas or Real Madrid supporters! You have been warned!
