Sally Ann Chaves

Sally Ann Chaves passed away on September 9, 2023 at the age of 85. She was born in Los Angeles on October 24, 1937 and was a long time resident of Orange County, California. She is survived by her son, Michael Chaves and wife, Teresa West, and daughter Lisa (Chaves) Leonard and husband Lance Leonard, her sister, Linda Barlow, nephew, David Barlow and numerous nieces and nephews. Sally was preceded in death by her son Richard Steven Chaves, her father, Ralph Howe and her mother, Betty Howe.

As an esteemed employee in the finance field, Sally was known for her attention to detail that went beyond what was expected. She possessed a remarkable talent for meticulousness, something that never ceased to amaze her colleagues. No matter how complex or seemingly insignificant the task, she managed to balance to the penny, and in the most perfect beautiful, legible handwriting. Her loyalty and ethics were the backbone of the company that she worked for for over 42 years. She was well regarded as a very kind-hearted colleague and a deep thinker.

As a mother there are few words to describe how much she will be missed. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family.

Her battle with medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the challenges, Sally came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Green Hills Memorial.
