Russell Ruben Zuniga found peace on the morning of April 30, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and friends. After battling for over a month, he finally succumbed to his injuries from brain trauma.
He was born on December 12, 1988 in Long Beach, California. After having lived in San Pedro during his childhood years, Russell moved to Long Beach and attended Woodrow Wilson High School. He graduated in 2007, then moved back to San Pedro to be closer to his friends and family. They enjoyed going to concerts together and attending Los Angeles Kings and Dodgers games, his favorite sports teams. Russell went on to become a member of the sales staff at C.A.R.E. Alternative Meds in Long Beach, where he had worked for the past year.
Russell is survived by his father, Victor Zuniga, Jr. of Long Beach; grandparents Martha and Victor Zuniga, Sr. of San Pedro; great-grandmothers Teresa Zuniga of San Pedro and Amanda Portillo of Apple Valley, CA; brother George Niklas Zuniga of Long Beach.
