Rose Irene Teisher

November 26, 1919 — July 23, 2020

R. Irene Teisher. on Thursday July 23, 2020, age 100, of Palos Verdes Estates, formerly of Haddon Township NJ, and South Bound Brook, NJ. Babe passed away peacefully at home in her sleep. She came into this world towards the end of the Spanish flu pandemic and has departed during the Covid pandemic. She loved Shakespeare and theater, had a clever wit and a sharp sense of humor that could take you by surprise. Curling up with an Agatha Christie novel or any murder mystery was her idea of bliss. She graduated Douglas College with degrees in English and Ancient History, and worked as an executive secretary to the president of Johns-Manville before she married and raised her family. Eventually, she returned to work as an Economic Development Representative for the State of New Jersey, retiring at age 78 after cancer surgery. She survived a second battle with cancer at age 84 and went on to travel the world a few years later fulfilling her dreams as she stood on top of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece with her daughters by her side. She was kind and caring and made friends easily. Her indomitable spirit inspired anyone who knew her and she will be sorely missed by all who loved her. Irene was predeceased by her brother James Murphy. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Teisher of Palos Verdes Estates, CA, Marian Bobyak (James) of Haddon Township, NJ and Anne Lunn (Terry) of Manhattan Beach, CA, beloved grandson Liam Bobyak of Haddon Township, NJ, sister Anne Colbert (William) of Houston, TX and nephew Kevin Colbert (Christina) of Houston, TX.
