Our beloved Rosanne O’Callaghan, passed away surrounded by her family on March 16, 2023.
The Angels took our Mother home after an almost eight year battle with pancreatic cancer. Rosanne is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dan O’Callaghan, her three children Kelly Yeargin, Michele Beilke (Jared), and Ryan McCormick (Gwen) and 7 “precious grandchildren” (as she called them), Riley (23), Haley (19), John (15), Molly (13), Ryan (11) and twins Abigail (9) and Madeline (9), all of whom had the gift of a grandmother who loved them unconditionally.
Rosanne was born in 1949 in Newport, Rhode Island, to Rosanne Farris (Boyle) and Joseph David Farris who served in the US Navy. Being a navy family, they traveled to San Diego, Calif., Guam, and Hawaii until they finally settled down in Upland, Calif. Rosanne, like her mother, was a registered nurse. After years of nursing, Rosanne returned to school and graduated with a degree in communications from California State University Long Beach. Rosanne and Dan raised their family in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
Motivated by providing a college education for their children, Rosanne and Dan took a leap of faith and started a healthcare consulting business that helped improve patient care. After working tirelessly and overcoming many challenges, Dan and Rosanne sold their company (MANNS) in 1992.
Once retired, Rosanne traveled the world and became an avid golfer at Rolling Hills Country Club. RHCC was truly her happy place where she was the Ladies Club President and where she developed wonderful lifelong friendships.
Rosanne loved all things Irish. She spent many summers in her home in Ireland, Cahir Abbey, where she and Dan hosted friends and family and created incredible memories for all that had the privilege of being a guest at this magical place.
Rosanne arrived in heaven just in time to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with her Mother and Father and we know it was a joyous celebration. In her final days, Rosanne was singing the lyrics to “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling” with her loving sister Lisa Henggeler. Yes, indeed, our Mother’s beautiful green eyes were always smiling and she stole all of our hearts away.
Rosanne is preceded in death by her mother, Rosanne Farris and father Joseph David Farris. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, her siblings, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Rosanne was kind, thoughtful, loving, forgiving and a generous person that lived an amazing and happy life. She will be missed deeply by all.
A celebration of life and Mass will take place on March 30, 2023, at St. John Fisher Catholic Church located at 5448 Crest Rd, Rancho Palos Verdes 90275. Funeral Mass begins at 10:30 a.m. and there is a reception following at Rolling Hills Country Club located at 1 Chandler Ranch Rd, Rolling Hills Estates.
