Rosalyn A Brucato

Rosalyn (Roz) Abbatiello was born and raised in Chicago, IL.

At 24, she met and married Marion (Morrie) Brucato and they left the cold of IL and moved to So CA and to the San Fernando Valley.

Five years later, their daughter Rori was born followed by sons Joseph (Joe) and Marty.

In 1964, the family came to San Pedro.  Roz started volunteering at Leland Street school and that started a 20 plus year career with LAUSD working at various schools in San Pedro and Gardena.

In 1987, Morrie passed suddenly, and Roz retired. With the kids grown, Roz enjoyed her dogs, chatting with her neighbors and corresponding with relatives, childhood pals, and friends far away.

She loved her early mornings, the computer, Turner Classic Movies, and afternoon tea with her dearest friends. To her treasured neighbors who watched over, included and helped her, we are truly thankful for your friendship.

To her dedicated caregivers — and her Hospice care team for we are grateful for your kindness, care and concern!

Roz is survived by her daughter Rori (Roje), and her sons Joe and Marty Brucato.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rosalyn Brucato’s name to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital either online or by mail.
