Romolo Torres Ponce, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2012 at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family in his home in Wilmington, California.

Ponce; daughters, Eva Gonzales, Carol Mulitaoaupele, and Susan Ponce;15 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Romolo is preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Ponce Encinas, and his son, Benjamin A. Ponce.
Romolo was born on December 13, 1928 in Amarillo, Texas to Andres and Concepcion (Torres) Ponce, a family of 15 children. He served as a Medic in the U.S. Army for 2 years and was stationed in Japan. Romolo was a hard worker and a good provider for his family, who meant the world to him.
In his lifetime, he accomplished more than the average person. He was a very wise man who continually shared his wisdom with us. He always said, "save your money" and "when you stop listening you stop learning." He was a very talented man who enjoyed fixing things around the house. He was always telling stories and jokes.
By sharing his love of music and playing the guitar, he greatly influenced his children and grandchildren to play music as well.
We will miss his singing and playing guitar. Romolo you will be deeply missed, and we will never forget you. We love you.
