Rolf Martin Sannes

Rolf Martin Sannes passed away on November 25th, 2018 at the age of 83 following a battle with MCL cancer. He was born in San Pedro, California on January 11, 1935 and was a long-time resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, California. He will be missed by his wife of 55 years, Judy Sannes and his son and daughter Rolf L. Sannes and Kristin Sannes Lowery. He is survived by his 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Noah, Anneliese, Connor and Kyle. Rolf was an avid cyclist for many years and could be found climbing the hill on many days. As well, he enjoyed tennis, sailing, travel, astronomy, and he took up golf in his seventies. Rolf had a tremendous memory for all kinds of history and trivia. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Rolf M. Sannes was born to Rolf and Ingrid Sannes who both immigrated to the United States from Norway. He spent his early years in San Pedro and in Portuguese Bend. He served our country in the United States Army and he was a graduate of Leland Stanford University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career in engineering before joining Seaside Supply Inc, a marine supply business started by his father, where he ended his long career as the CEO and President of the business. Rolf had a love of jazz and classical music. For many years he volunteered with the Peninsula Committee- LA Philharmonic.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Green Hills Mortuary.
