Rolando “Jun” Izar Jr. passed away on January 7, 2024 at the age of 69. He was born in Manila, Philippines on January 16, 1954 to Rolando Izar Sr. and Felicidad Cristobal Izar.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Teresita; his children Roland [Nancy], Joseph [Jana], and Rolan; his grandchildren Arya, Ryan, Justin, and Jamie; and his siblings Lulu, Imelda, Rey, Shirley, Marty, Buen, Christine, Carmi, Ronald, and Michelle. Rolando was predeceased by his parents Rolando and Felicidad as well as his brothers, Erlan and Chito.
Rolando lived in New Jersey for 29 years before relocating to Las Vegas, NV in 2016 to be near his siblings. His professional career included working at the registrar’s office of The Philippine School of Business Administration and a banker for 32 years at Republic Bank and The Bank of New York Mellon before retiring in 2011. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking, singing karaoke, participating in church activities, talking about the stock market, and shopping.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather “lolo”, son, and brother. He will truly be missed and be forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 4pm - 8pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Lawrence Martyr Church in Redondo Beach on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 10am followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park at 11:45am.
