Roelof “Ralph” Engelman of Torrance, CA, age 65, passed away Tuesday, September
20th following a battle with lung cancer. He was born on May 6, 1957 in Rotterdam,
Netherlands, the first child of John and Hilda Engelman.

Everyone who knew Ralph felt his big heart and giving nature. Ralph had the unique accomplishment of a solo flight on his 16th birthday in a Cessna 172. He had many interests including boating, water-skiing, swimming, camping and taking road trips. He was a master at the ‘claw’ arcade game and loved visiting the Pechanga Casino where he could be found regularly playing Buffalo. His greatest joy was riding his motorcycle and he was most proud of his membership in the Motorcycle Club the Chosen Few.

Ralph immigrated to the US in 1960 with his parents and spent most of his life in southern California. He graduated high school in Torrance and worked side-by-side with his father in electrical and general construction for most of his work life.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of seventeen years, Wanda, and four children: Jason
McGraw, Anneke Engelman, Rhianna Cardiel and Sarah Tilly, his stepsons Brent and Chad, his mother Hilda Engelman and sisters Karin Accomando, Jennifer Hutchings, his six grandchildren and extended family. Ralph was preceded in death by his father Johannes ‘John’ Engelman. Ralph also leaves behind his beloved best friend Vallamar ‘Ghost’ Marshall, his furry best friend and inseparable companion, dog Bad-Boy.

His kind heart will forever be emblazoned into the hearts of all he touched. The family would like to thank all of Ralph’s friends who spent time with him and his brothers of the Chosen Few MC who made him feel loved and respected. His family will greatly miss how much he loved teasing them all.

He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Green Hills Chapel 27501 Western Ave in Rancho
Palos Verdes on Friday, October 21st at 2:00 pm followed by the graveside internment
