Roberta “Robbi” Arlene Winters, age 82, of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA passed away Monday, February 5, 2024. Born on April 15, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Robert and Marie Winters, and raised in Benton Harbor Michigan. The family moved West to California, and Robbi graduated from Arcadia High School in 1959. She found her dream career as a flight attendant working first with TWA on Trans Atlantic flights to Europe, then with Western Airlines to be based closer to home in California. For 25 years she flew the skies, loving every minute of it, and even talked about going back to flying long after retirement. She was also a proud SAG card holder and did voiceovers for a time. Robbi’s talents and interests were many, she was an amazing singer, guitarist, and pianist, and all around entertainer. She had the greenest thumb, designed and made some of her own clothes, and she cooked with heart for those she loved, and boy did she know how to throw a party!! She was a member of Sweet Adelines chorus in Torrance, CA, and a quarter of a Barber Shop Quartet, Red Dye #5. She was a proud member and participant of the AAUW and Readers Theater with several community performances around the South Bay. In her later years Robbi enjoyed spending time with her family and being the best dog mom to her pampered pooch, Bijou. Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Marie Winters. She is survived by her daughters Caryn Winters of Rancho Palos Verdes, California, Kathleen Sheldon of Houston, Texas, and sisters Carol Orlaske of St. Joseph Michigan and Marilyn Rhode of San Diego California . She is also survived by her grandchildren Taylor Snider, Autumn Alvarez , Sam and Mia Alvarez, and Eli Alvarez, along with her one year old great-grandson Beaux Alvarez. Robbi is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family, as well as several amazing lifelong friends. Memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 S Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. The family will have a private reception luncheon to follow.
