Robert Talamantes

Robert (Bob) Talamantes, 89, of Wilmington, California, died peacefully at his home on January 19, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wilmington, Ca on Sept. 28, 1933

He met the love of his life Joann, (preceded in death in 2017) and together they raised 3 children, Kathleen, Robert (Anna) and Gilbert (Laurie). They were blessed with 5 Grandchildren; Michael Willams (Michelle), Kimberly Couch, Michael Talamantes (Stephanie), Ashley Talamantes, Brionna Talamantes (Rigoberto). 11 Great grandchildren and a lifelong loving marriage.

Bob served in the United States Army where he was part of the 106th Tank Battalion 44th infantry division stationed in Germany. During his service he made lifelong friends and kept those memories alive until his death.

Bob was an avid golfer, his favorite course was Singing Hills, located in El Cajon, CA. This is where he got his One and Only "Hole in One" a story which he shared with family and friends.

He had a 44 year career with the I.L.W.U. Local 13 and Local 63 (Reg#30024). He was a proud Crane Operator who worked for Matson. He finished his career as a Marine Clerk.

As a retiree he was a proud I.L.W.U pensioner who enjoyed attending meetings, functions and other events. His biggest joy was spending time with his family and taking many photos. Bob always had a camera in hand and was ready to capture life's moments. He also enjoyed watching various sporting events. His teams were The Raiders, Dodgers and Lakers.

The family is grateful for all the thoughts and prayers they have received during this difficult time.
