Robert L. Gwynn U.S. Navy retired, was born December 14, 1955 to Willis and Anner Gwynn (both deceased) in Vallejo, California and grew up in Carson, California.
Robert L. Gwynn served our country from 1974 as a Cryptologic Technician and was stationed around the globe in Japan, Korea, Guam, England, and the United States. He also embarked on a Goodwill Mission to several South Pacific Islands, including Hawaii.
Whilst in the military, he enjoyed playing flag football and softball. He later went on to coach and referee soccer and basketball for the San Diego Cougars.
In 1995, he was honorably discharged from the United States Navy and remained in San Diego where he raised his only son; Elan L. Gwynn, with his wife; Gweneth Gwynn, whom he was married to for 20 years.
After moving back to Carson in 2003, Robert L. Gwynn, became an active member of the community. He held the position as Vice President of the Dominguez Hills Social Club until 2014, where he resided. He had an instrumental role towards the annexation Rancho Dominguez Hills Estates.
Mr. Gwynn was a member of the Masonic order, and he served as a Worthy Patron of the Eastern Stars. He then went forth to becoming a member of the Shriners. He continued forward as a member of the American Legion and was also recognized as a State Certified notary.
Robert L. Gwynn was predeceased by his parents; Willis R. Gwynn Sr., and Anner L. Gwynn. He is survived by his only son; Elan Gwynn, his two sisters; Mary Ransom and Teresa Fletcher, and two brothers; Willis L. Gwynn Jr. and Richard Gwynn senior. He also leaves behind a host of; cousins, nieces and nephews.
At 7:45 p.m. Friday October 26, 2018, Mr. Robert L. Gwynn received God's orders and he saluted and closed his eyes to go home. May he rest in Paradise.
