Robert John Cardona

June 16, 1978 — January 4, 2014

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert John Cardona, on January 4th, 2014. He was only 35 years young. We do not know at this time why he passed. All we know is that our world has been completely shattered and turned upside down. Words cannot express the tragic loss that our family is feeling at this time.

Robert John, the son of Raul and Sylvia Cardona, was born on June 16th, 1978 at Torrance Memorial Hospital in California. He was raised by his adoring parents in the family home in Rolling Hills Estates. It is there that he attended both elementary and middle schools. He then graduated high school at South High in Torrance.

Robert John was predeceased by his cherished father Raul Cardona in 1996 and his favorite pit bull "Sampson" whom he adored. He is survived by his devoted mother Sylvia Cardona, his closest and loving siblings David Fisher and Tracy Beckmann, his older brothers Ron and Phillip Cardona along with sister Kim Cardona and his trusted companion American bulldog "Capone". He was also a new uncle and godfather to two beautiful children Payton and Chase Fisher. Robert John was also once married to Sarah Patruzo from San Pedro, California.

Robert's deep love of animals, especially dogs, moved him to become a dog trainer.
He trained dogs both independently and for two of the largest pet retailers, Pet Smart and Petco. He was adored by his clients and sought after by most of the South Bay. During his time with these pet retailers he also found a love for fish and became an aquatics specialists. He would also donate his time to pet rescues and because of that many abandoned pets found a new start with healthy temperaments and good homes.

Robert John was passionate about tattoos, classic cars and trucks and pin-up girls.
He would go to every tattoo convention and would always come back wearing a new piece. He loved to spend time playing with his niece and nephew. He loved music and movies, especially comedies. He spent a great deal of time hanging out with his family and for that we are eternally grateful.

Another of Robert John's passions was the art and tradition of "Los Dias De Los Muertos", so we will be celebrating his life "Day of the Dead" style with Mariachi, horse and carriage, alters, flowers, candles and more. Just the way he would have wanted it.

We would like to extend an invitation to come and celebrate his life with us this Friday, January 10th from 5pm-9pm for the viewing (Rosary at 7pm) and Saturday, January 11th at 9am for funeral services at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 South Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
