Robert Arriola, was born in San Pedro on July 25th, 1947 to Ignacio Arriola and Esther Arriola. As a true San Pedro native, there is no surprise that Robert would find himself dedicating 44 years of his life to become a Longshoreman of Local 13. Although it can easily be said that his passion showed strong when it came to the work ethic he portrayed, the true light of his love was seen within his family. At the age of 15, Robert met his then girlfriend Olivia whom he would quickly realize that she was the person he was meant to spend the rest of his years with. Robert and Olivia married on February 18th, 1967 and dedicated their marriage to creating a beautiful family that now carries his memory today. Together, Robert and Olivia welcomed their Son Mark Arriola and daughter Geri Ponce into this world. As fate would allow it, Robert was promoted from Father to Grandfather when his son Mark and wife Michelle and daughter Geri and husband Mondo gifted him with 11 Grandchildren (Nicole, Mark Jr., Raquel, Robert, Natalie, Victoria, Kristine, Joseph, Joshua, Kourtney and Ritchie). The memories Robert shared with his grandchildren will be memories that will be cherished throughout life. Years later Robert would once more be promoted, but this time he would honorably hold the position of being a Great-Grandpa as Maryiah, Jaycob, Raymond, Tyler, Mia, Robbie and Nico would then join his life and grow the legacy behind his name. Above all, Robert will be remembered as a hard working man that showed the value in his family and the love displayed will be something that will be passed from one generation to the next. He will always be remembered as someone that loved bowling, hunting, camping and especially will be remembered as someone who dedicated his life to his family. Robert passed away peacefully in his home on February 28th, 2023 surrounded by those who loved him both present and in spirit. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Esther, as well as his grandsons David and Daniel. We would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt words during this difficult time in our life and in memory of Robert, we especially would like to thank his wonderful Caregivers that were with us through some of the hardest days we faced, the compassion and love shown to not only us but to Robert is something that will be cherished for years to come, thank you Tele, Meli, Pele and Natalie for everything you did and the support you gave us during the time we all needed it the most.
