Rita Silvia Macias

Rita Silvia Macias passed away on March 17, 2025, due to multiple medical complications. She was 73 years old. A long-time resident of Wilmington, San Pedro, and finally Long Beach, Ca. Silvia, as she was known to family and friends - was born May 30, 1951. Silvia was a single Mother, who did her best to take care of her mother and son and succeeded. Silvia was an employee of StarKist Cannery for 40 years located on Terminal Island, CA. Silvia retired and enjoyed her time spent with her mother Eufemia “Pema” Meza, son, plus the many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. She loved long drives on the coast, cooking for family and friends, traveling, and her passion for reading books. Though Silvia’s health was failing for years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain. Silvia is survived by her son Ben Magdaleno.
Her services will be held at the Chapel in Green Hills Cemetery, 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275 on April 9th, 2025, 11:30AM – 12:30PM.
