Richard Odgers

Richard (Dick) Odgers passed away gently in his home on the morning of March 21, 2025 in
Torrance, California at the age of 86.
Dick was born in Kansas City, Missouri October 15, 1938.
He graduated from Missouri University and then received his Masters in Math from the
University of South Carolina.
Dick and Kay visited Europe many times, including Cornwall England where the Odgers name
originated. Dick was a kind, intelligent and generous man. He helped many people in his life in
numerous ways, always going the extra mile for his family, friends and colleagues.
Dick's commitment to his work at CTA (California Teachers Association) brought collective
bargaining for teachers in California. His negotiations department valued his skill set and what
he contributed to his field of work. They appreciated his listening to their flights of fancy
Dick leaves behind his beloved Wife Kay Odgers, his Daughter Kristen Odgers Day, his Son Kevin
Odgers and his Granddaughter Jessica Day. His Sister Judy Odgers Shukers, nephew Jeff
Dahman and his niece Rebecca Dahman Charles
While numbers are swell Dick knew well, people are more precious than data. Dick has given us
his best, he's earned a good rest.
We will love and miss him always.
