Richard "Dickie" Monje

Born August 30, 1929 and raised in San Pedro to Urbano and Jennie Monje, the long-time Carson resident passed away peacefully on December 8, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Ernie (Sylvia) Monje and Patsy Monje. A Longshoreman (ILWU Local 94) for 51 years and Korean War Army veteran, he is survived by his loving wife of 62-years, Marina Monje; children, Pat Monje, Kathy Campos, Lori (Larry) Garcia and Lynda (Joel) Hilbert; along with his grandchildren, Trisha Campos, Nico Garcia, Bebe Garcia and Karly Garcia. He is also survived by his brother, David (Evelyn) Monje, along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Sunday, 4-7pm in the Green Hills Mortuary Villetta Suite. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 15, 2014, 10:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro. Burial to follow in Green Hills Memorial Park.
